Lessons Learned: Transform to suit
Opportunities sometimes present themselves when you least expect it! In this case, I was slowly circling a small cluster of plants, looking for images among the leaves and blossoms, when I suddenly noticed this little character looking up at me.
As I've confessed in these photo tips before, I'm inclined to focus my attention onto a particular project at the expense of all else. So it takes a fair amount of distraction - or inspiration - to sidetrack me. (I'm getting better about that, but...you know the deal with old dogs and new tricks.)
But this bright green, elegantly-shaped little reptile chose to pose against a perfectly complementary cluster of leaves (ranging from dark red to orange and warm tan), and I recognized a unique photo opportunity.
In the length of time it takes a modern digital camera to auto-focus, I'd left the botany world behind and evolved into a practicing small-game hunter with a camera. I clicked off two quick images of my little green friend before he (she?) decided that the huge monster with the beeping, clicking device might become a genuine threat and disappeared with one quick flick of that long green tail.
