How to use these pictures to enhance your computer's appearance

carmel collage Computer wallpaper is an image that appears on your computer "desktop" as shown in the screen capture of Charlie's computer at the right. That particular image is a collage of photos he took during a weekend getaway with Amy in Carmel, California.

If you like the pictures you've seen here, you'll be happy to know that they're all available for you to download and use to decorate your computer desktop. Just click here to return to the wallpaper display page, right-click on any image you want and "Save Target As...". Or, if you'd prefer the Carmel Collage on your desktop, just right-click here and "Save Target As..." into your Windows folder.

How to install your new wallpaper. The file you'll download is in a Windows "bmp" format, so it's ready to go when you download it.

To install your new wallpaper image, first make sure the .bmp file is in your Windows directory. Then right-click anywhere on the computer's desktop, and you'll see the menu shown on the left below.

Select Properties as shown, and you'll get the Display Properties menu, as shown on the right.

Select the wallpaper filename, as shown with "carmelcollage" here, click OK, and your new wallpaper will appear!

Downloading Problem? When you clicked on the images you wanted, instead of getting a download dialog box, your browser started downloading the file and displayed it as text gibberish, or just the wallpaper appeared as an image on your monitor screen?

Here's how to fix it. Instead of LEFT-clicking on the image, RIGHT-click on it, and you'll get a menu, which will offer Save Target As... as an option. Save the file in your Windows folder (yes, the same one where your Windows operating system is).
