| Digital Yosemite | Los Angeles' Infusion Gallery Exhibit Set for 2005 |
I have an opportunity. Thanks to Yosemite Renaissance, I spent a full month collecting images as a participant in their Artist-in-Residence program. Although Yosemite Renaissance's Artists-in-Residence are expected to submit work for an AiR show, we're also allowed up to two years to complete our residency, which places that show date fairly far out into the future. In the meantime, I have a list of ideas of my own. First, I assembled the best images from my residency work into an exhibit called Digital Yosemite and presented that show at Los Angeles' Infusion Gallery, 828 South Main Street, Los Angeles, on August 2-27, 2005. The show went well, drawing a capacity crowd at the 10,000-square-foot venue. Then on October 5, 2005, I hung smaller version of the show in North Hollywood's NoHo Arts District at friend Brian Sheehan's Eclectic Café. We haven't yet determined a reception date, nor is there a scheduled take-down date, although I anticipate the exhibit will remain in place through the holiday season until the end of the year. Recently, I created the 2006 Yosemite AiR Calendar at Lulu.com, a print-on-demand service, using 16 of my favorite images from the artist-in-residence experience that I converted to B&W format. Please click here to see it. I'd also like to produce a coffee-table book, a line of posters and perhaps a unique website for Digital Yosemite. (If you know of any other opportunities or potential sponsors for these, please let me know.) |
