Sunday, February 27, 2005 Back to reality. Since I had no intention of taking pictures today, I slept in 'til a little after 7:00 a.m., then began the task of returning Mr. Cramer's cabin to its original condition. Kay and Don Pitts kindly let me use their laundry facilities, so I started that going, then returned to finish up at the cabin. By noon, all was shipshape, and I dropped off the keys and headed south. The trip home was a typical run down Highway 41, Highway 99 and Interstate 5 into Los Angeles, with the Hollywood Freeway finally dropping me off within a mile of home. I received a wonderful welcome from Amy, Annie and Sam (lots of excitement and kisses of both styles, human and doggy) and one of my favorite home-cooked meals. With the exception of the two nights I spent with the Pitts enjoying one of Kay's meals, I'd been the complete bachelor, master of the one-course meal, during my stay in Yosemite. (The good news is that with the exercise of hiking around those steep hillsides and the aforementioned cooking deficit, I managed to lose seven pounds!) Now it's time to catch up with all that passed while I was in fantasyland, and go to work on processing the new Yosemite images, making them ready for application to gallery exhibitions and whatever publishing opportunities I can create. Please join me again in the first half of May for another two weeks in Yosemite! |
