Another late night. Looks like I'm going to have to either stop getting up to greet the sun with my camera, or enjoying the good company and food offered by Yosemite Renaissance President Kay Pitts and her husband Don at their Yosemite Peregrine Bed and Breakfast. Decisions, decisions.

Well, let's see...the sun doesn't actually reach the tip of El Capitan 'til around 7:00 a.m. And I already have enough photos of El Cap. It's closer to eight o'clock when the rays fully cloak all three levels of Yosemite Falls. And I already have enough pictures of them. You know, there's really no reason for getting out there much before 9:00 a.m. Hmmm... Looks like I made the right decision!

What a night! The Yosemite Renaissance XX show opened at the Yosemite Museum Gallery tonight to a capacity crowd. The work included paintings, sculpture and photography. Six artists were selected to share a $3,000 cash prize furnished by the Yosemite vendor Delaware North Corporation and presented by COO Brad Anderson. Four artists received $250 each. Two artists received $500 each. And the Grand Prize winner received $1,000.

I received one of the $500 prizes for my "Granite Cascade" image!

Now, it's approaching midnight, and I've gotta get some shut-eye before I go out for my last full day in this segment of my Artist-in-Residence program. Sunday morning, I wrap up a few household chores here at Charlie Cramer's cabin, and then it's home to Amy and my buddies Annie (Yellow Lab) and Sam (Bouvier des Flandres).
