Wow, what a day! Started with wet, gray clouds, ongoing rain showers and Yosemite's famous mist and ended with golden late-afternoon sunshine and almost a sunset. I spent the morning exploring the monochrome mysteries of mist, then played with some waterfalls for a while before chasing the sun back to tunnel view to watch it paint the valley monuments in soft, warm colors just before day's end.

Throughout the day, I watched the road condition signs annouce the need for tire chains on every road leaving the valley except for Route 140, which descends down the valley toward Mariposa. By the time the sun set, however, my road "home" -- Route 41 up to Yosemite West -- once again became a chain-free environment.

Today was my most productive day so far based on sheer number of exposures. I filled two 1GB memory cards and two half-gigabyte cards for a total of more than 300 shutter clicks.

I'll sleep in a bit later tomorrow after this late-night work session, then do a few domestic chores (groceries, laundry...even Artists-in-Residence have to deal with reality sometimes!) before heading back out to the valley for the afternoon light, weather permitting.

But now I'm pooped. It's almost midnight, and I'm running late on getting this journal posted. Here are some pictures I found today.
